From the morning boats, to your table Houlakia Bay, Agios Ioannis road km 4.2, Mykonos 84600 +30 22890 71534

The sea, served simply.

A seafood deck above Houlakia bay, Mykonos. Open since 2009. The boats land at 7. We start cooking at 12:30.

Two families, three boats, one drystone deck

Yannis’ grandfather Dimitrios fished this stretch of coast in the 1950s; the deck rests on the same caper terraces his family worked for four generations. In 2009 Yannis and Marina rebuilt the small storehouse into seven covered tables and didn’t change much else.nnToday the same three captains land their catch at the Houlakia steps before sunrise. Marina runs the cellar — 92% Cycladic — and writes the Thursday tasting menus through the off-season. The seven tables are now twenty-two; the philosophy hasn’t moved.

Six minutes on the deck

A short film by the photographer Stratos Kalafatis, shot over three mornings in May 2024 — the boats arriving, Yannis cleaning a basin of red mullet, Marina opening a bottle of Vassaltis.

One letter a month, never two

Marina writes once a month — what the boats are bringing in, when the long Sunday lunches start, which wines we've just opened. No marketing, no urgency.
