The programme

October — Tinos volcanic whites

Where the cellar starts. Six Assyrtikos and Malagousias off granite, tasted next to each other, with salted capers and bread from Aphrodite.

November — Santorini verticals

One producer, five vintages, one long argument about which year was the best. Usually the 2018.

December — Mainland reds for the table

Nemea, Naoussa and Drama, poured with lamb rather than fish. The only evening of the year with no seafood on the bench.

January — Producers’ night, Vassaltis

Someone from the winery comes and does the talking. Twelve places, always full first.

February — Orange wines and natural islands

The evening that changes minds. Six wines, no labels shown until the end.

March — The list closes

Marina’s pick of the whole season, the six bottles she was sorriest to sell out of. Then the cellar shuts and the boats start again.

Practicalities

When and how long

Thursdays at 19:00, roughly two and a half hours. Mid-October to early April only — in season the cellar is a working cellar.

Size and price

Six to twelve people, €38 per person including the mezedes. Below six we move you to the next Thursday.
